Open Water Certification Celebration

Father and Son Celebrate Finishing Their Open Water Certification in Cozumel with Blue Mayan Divers

A father and son from California recently celebrated finishing their Open Water Certification with Blue Mayan Divers in Cozumel, Mexico. The father, John, and son, Michael, had been planning the trip for months and were excited to finally get in the water and start exploring the underwater world.

Blue Mayan Divers is a PADI Dive Shop located in San Miguel de Cozumel. The center offers a variety of scuba diving courses and packages, as well as snorkel tours and other water activities. John and Michael chose to take the Open Water Certification course, which is the most basic scuba diving certification offered by PADI.

The course consists of three parts: classroom instruction, confined water dives, and open water dives. The classroom instruction covers topics such as scuba diving equipment, dive planning, and emergency procedures. The confined water dives are conducted in a pool or other controlled environment, and the open water dives are conducted in the ocean.

John and Michael thoroughly enjoyed their time with Blue Mayan Divers. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. They were particularly impressed with the instructors, who were patient and helpful.

“We had a great time with Blue Mayan Divers,” said John. “The instructors were excellent, and the facilities were top-notch. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to learn to scuba dive.”

After completing the course, John and Michael were certified Open Water Divers. They were thrilled to be able to explore the underwater world on their own, and they said they couldn’t wait to go on more scuba diving adventures.

“We’re so glad we decided to learn to scuba dive,” said Michael. “It’s an amazing experience, and we can’t wait to do it again.”

If you’re thinking about learning to scuba dive, Blue Mayan Divers is a great option. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the facilities are clean and well-maintained. You’re sure to have a great time learning to scuba dive with Blue Mayan Divers.

Book your flights and accommodations in advance

Cozumel is a popular tourist destination, so it’s important to book your flights and accommodations well in advance. This is especially true if you’re planning to travel during the peak season (December-April).

Get the right gear

You’ll need to rent or purchase scuba diving gear, including a wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel, and regulator. You can rent gear from most dive shops in Cozumel, but it’s often cheaper to purchase your own gear if you plan on doing a lot of diving.

Take a scuba diving course

It’s important to take a scuba diving course before you go scuba diving in Cozumel. This will teach you the basics of scuba diving and how to stay safe underwater. There are many different scuba diving courses available, so you can find one that’s right for your experience level.
